We live such busy lives every day, we often get caught up in the everyday rush and stress and finding time to relax and calm down gets more and more difficult every day. Stillness helps to calm the busy mind and to bring you in tune with harmony, peace and purpose.

 

The best time to meditate is in the early hours of the morning before the everyday rush. Imagine sitting at a lake at sunrise, no ripples or waves on the water, the sky perfectly reflected on the water and imagine the stillness around you, the refreshing smell of a new day. Before you know it, your mind will be at rest, still and in harmony. After meditation you will feel relaxed and ready to take on the everyday rush.

You can also imagine a group of dolphins jumping and playing in the beautiful blue waters of the powerful ocean without a care in the world. Dolphins bring healing energy, their presence is magical. By tuning into their happy and healing nature will open your heart and give you a sense of connection to something greater.

Before you go to bed at night, sit for a few minutes in stillness and calm your mind. Think of sunsets and their spectacular displays, the beautiful red, orange, pink and yellow colors that fill the sky and how it reflects on the ocean. Sunsets give a moment of pause and let you watch the world turn from light to dark. This is a chance for you to become quiet and slow down and to notice the beauty and harmony of the natural world as the sun moves into the sea.

Meditation can happen any time, you just need to block out the noises and let your mind calm.

  • You can do it while you are gardening
  • Taking a warm bath
  • Resting after a workout
  • Relaxing after work
  • Walking outside
  • Sitting quietly with a child
  • Lying in bed
  • Sitting outside
  • Or even when sitting in traffic

When you feel like you can’t concentrate anymore or the rush is becoming too much, just take a 10 minute break and let your mind go.
